The most important part of any wedding is the dress; many think that this is only the woman’s point of view but the men know that if the woman doesn’t get her dress than there will be hell to pay. The wedding dress is an old tradition that women love to follow, it makes them feel womanly and beautiful to be standing up in front of their friends and family wearing a traditional long white gown.

There is speculation about a white wedding dress. Many woman are not advised to wear white if they have had sex before marriage, they are advised that cream or silver should be their choice of color for a dress, as white sanctifies purity and innocence and the church believes that sex before marriage is sin.

A traditional wedding dress is usually white with long sleeves and a very long trail. The wedding dress is a crucial part of any wedding and is probably the most stunning and wonderful part, except the marriage vows of course! There is an old tradition followed by women which consists of something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue, the bride then tries to find all of these items, the shoes are usually old, the dress is mainly new, the necklace is generally borrowed and something blue is usually the garter worn by the bride.

The wedding dress is usually worn throughout the whole wedding, reception included. Many women find it hard to dance in their dress as a lot of bride’s trip over their trail!!!

Wedding dresses can be bought virtually anywhere; there are special boutiques which are specifically for wedding clothes, such as dresses, suits and shoes. A lot of wedding dresses can be bought second hand or online! They are usually very expensive to buy new but they can be hired if you can not afford to purchase one. Any wedding dress can be spectacular it is all in the eye of the beholder, isn’t it?!

What counts the most in any wedding is that both the bride and groom are happy, whether it’s a big church wedding or a general registrar office wedding. It doesn’t matter if the wedding dress is white, cream gold silver or red! All that matters is that the couple are happily in love and are ready to settle down and spend the rest of their lives loving each other!
